iPage is one of my top recommendations for those who want cheap web host – the web host’s price tag is extremely cheap and its server is performing better than average according to my record. Note that I am not saying iPage is the best web host; but I do believe it is the best option for those who are looking for a cheap hosting option. (source)
I have used iPage for an year and I was not completely disappointed with them. The servers are slow, they have an “improvised” CPanel and I had few downtimes (around 95% uptime). But I was into FB pages back then, I even had spikes of 15k traffic per day and the servers were up. Sure, I had a non optimized image entertainment website and it loaded in 6-7 seconds, but no shared hosting that cheap would allow you to have that much traffic per day. I did receive a message from them, saying that I should upgrade my package (which obviously I didn’t), I bought another hosting from another company and moved on.
It all depends on what you are trying to do. GoDaddy has great services and is cheap. However, IPage has unlimited everything and is also cheap. I use Ipage and I don’t have too many issues! (source)
iPage reengineered its WordPress hosting solution to be uniquely hassle-free, fast and secure. The new offering features fewer customers per server, cloud resource elasticity, and best of breed performance-enhancing plugins that are installed automatically. The user experience has also been completely revised with a streamlined control panel and curated free themes to get users online fast.
I have been an iPage customer for 8 years, I picked them because of their extensive list of products and their availability of help! I have not been disappointed! (source)

If you are looking for a very inexpensive host for your website that still provides excellent customer service, you should definitely take a closer look at iPage.
This is a full-featured web hosting service that includes the most common features such as unlimited disk space, bandwidth, domains, databases and email accounts. They also provide a drag and drop site builder, one-click installers, a simple online store, shopping cart and wizards for creating a blog and photo gallery. When you sign up for an account, iPage throws in a free domain name for the first year, lots of online advertising credits and 1GB of cloud storage space. Of course, you also get all the popular CMS’s, too, such as WordPress, Joomla and Drupal, as well as forums.
So, what does iPage do differently? Perhaps the biggest, positive difference is in the level of customer service you receive. Each new account owner is contacted by a personal customer service representative who will actually telephone, then follow up via email on a regular basis. This is your first point of contact for any questions, concerns or technical issues. That’s the kind of personalized support you wouldn’t expect to get with a cheap website hosting service. They also offer 24/7 phone support with a toll-free number that can be used anywhere in the US (but not outside the country).
One thing to be aware of is the platform of its web hosting control panel, which is provided by vDeck. If you are used to dealing with the much more common cPanel, there will be a bit of a learning curve to use vDeck. It provides all the same management tools but in a much different format.
Your iPage account includes support for Real Audio and Video, Flash, Macromedia Shockwave and MIDI files as well as PERL, PHP and Python programming languages, but it is noticeably missing for Ruby on Rails and SSH (Secure SHell). There’s not a lot of customizable options (such as cron job scheduling), making iPage a better choice for those who simply want to set up, design and manage a basic website with the help of simple online tools.
That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t consider iPage if you are a business owner. For the small business that just needs an online presence without a lot of bells and whistles, their Essential Plan is a fine option. But if you are expecting a lot of growth, traffic and bandwidth usage, you are better off upgrading to the VPS or Dedicated Server packages from iPage – or looking for a different provider.
With monthly prices starting at $1.99 for a 12-month contract, this is definitely one of the most affordable website hosting services available today. But, as with most other companies, that promotional price is only applicable for the first term of your account; expect the price to go up as soon as your contract is over.
If you are just getting started with an online presence or on a tight budget, iPage is definitely worth a try. It’s cheap, reliable and gets the job of creating a website done quickly and easily.
