GreenGeeks, the website hosting company known for being 300% green, is a popular choice for shared hosting. In order to help you understand more about the service provided by GreenGeeks, we interviewed William Williamson, owner of the Shop Save N Earn website.
Hi! I am a husband and proud father of four kids. My wife Michelle and kids Mercadez, Christtian, Sabrina and Katrina are the greatest family ever as they are always here for me when I need them.
My web design education is what lead me to start my shopping site, Shop Save N Earn. The organization donates 10% of its profits back to its registered customers and another 10% to community programs and non-profits. Customers can earn 1% – 50% back on every order.
Currently we only host one website with GreekGeeks, which is Shop Save N Earn. The website is quite large and taxing on the server, but that is never a problem.
We use a shared plan, which is perfect as we operate with 99% uptime and it is very cheap for the quality of service. Green Geeks has been hosting our website since its creation in 2012 and we have never had any real issues. In fact, our website has been down only a few times and only for a very – and I mean very – short time. We do however plan on upgrading to a VPS plan in the near future as we grow.
Honestly, it was the green aspect of the company as they are eco-friendly. I want to support organizations who support others and the earth as that is what Shop Save N Earn does. In fact, GreenGeeks buys energy credits and that helps their community. Once I visited their website I knew they would be a perfect fit for my business.
Definitely. GreenGeeks has met and exceeded my expectations as they have continuously kept my website up and running with little to no issues. They have lived up to the 99% uptime guarantee or exceeded it.
The best features are the ability to stream media, the reliability of the hosting, and the low cost. However there are so many feature and benefits it is hard to name them all. Below is a list of a few that are very important to my organization:
I have not once exceeded any limits. I have multiple email accounts and a large server file system and still have not hit the max. I believe one day they will tell me to delete some stuff, but I will not hold my breath as they do not seem to be worried about my usage as of yet and I use a lot of resources.
Yes, one time I did call in to them. It was a very small issue, but still a problem for me. The response time was instant, even before I could call it in, as if someone was waiting for an issue to fix! I can visualize a team of IT professionals at the start of a race waiting for an issue and sprinting to fix it as soon as it shows up.
They were very knowledgeable, courteous and explained everything so I could understand it.
