Michael has two sites, MikePerazzetti.com, where he posts his academic writings and other personal writings of interest, and RadioCasbah.com where he hosts his Internet radio web site, currently on hiatus due to other responsibilities. He will revive RadioCasbah soon and perhaps turn it into a profit-making venture of some sort. RadioCasbah.com evolved from two other Internet radio web sites that began in 2001 that were also hosted at DreamHost.com for several years. With over 10 years hosting personal and professional web sites, we felt Michael was the perfect person to interview as a DreamHost customer.
I graduated from San Diego State with a BA in Communications with a concentration in Film and TV production. I have done little with it since but the creativity that I utilized when I was in school is used in every other aspect of my life.
Currently, I am a critical media social psychologist and intersectional feminist ally who is very passionate about propaganda, misogyny, intentional communities, permaculture and music. I intend to continue the study of social psychology as it relates to the use of racism and misogyny embedded within the English language and media propaganda, making them subject(s) of my thesis and dissertation. I currently live in the Southeastern United States, and I am available for interviews and for group presentations.
Currently, I have the two sites hosted with DreamHost. It is the most inexpensive shared hosting plan that they have and I am able to add more sites to the plan.
One site, RadioCasbah.com is inactive but as soon as I have the time, I will activate it with a multiuser WordPress site since I am very familiar and comfortable with WordPress at this time. I may enable e-commerce at RadioCasbah in the future, but I do not have this feature at the moment. MikePerazzetti.com is my academic site and hosts my writings. At the moment it is not an ecommerce site.
Because WordPress is already installed at the back end of my account, it was just a matter of activating it and creating a log in. It was easy. I just had to find a theme and adjust it for my needs.
Recently, I have had these sites hosted with DreamHost for over a year. In the past, my Internet radio web sites were hosted with DreamHost for over 5 years.
I chose DreamHost because I wanted to get away from my then current provider, which was a very impersonal relationship, and it was much too overpriced. I wanted a more reasonably priced provider. DreamHost is also employee-owned which is an added plus and the employees respond to my requests fairly quickly. There is probably downtime, but I have not noticed it, and I was immediately notified of a server replacement. The downtime for this was extremely short.

Yes, I would absolutely recommend them. They are easy to deal with, very personal, and their response time is quicker than the bigger companies.
They have several tiers of services so any site from a personal to a medium sized business will get the attention it needs.
